In the spring of 2022, a domestic violence incident in Tucson, Arizona, tragically cut short the life of 43-year-old Timeki Regina Myers, a Black/African American woman. On the afternoon of May 3, 2022, law enforcement responded to a 9-1-1 call from a neighbor after two children fled their home in the 5300 block of East Glenn Street and reported that family members were unresponsive inside.
Upon entering the residence, officers discovered a devastating scene.
Timeki Myers, her 20-year-old daughter Aloria Bingham, and Timeki's 40-year-old husband, Christopher Myers, were all found deceased with gunshot wounds. The subsequent investigation by the Tucson Police Department's Homicide Unit determined that the incident was a double murder-suicide.
Detectives concluded that Christopher Myers shot and killed his wife, Timeki, and his stepdaughter, Aloria, before turning the gun on himself. The two juvenile children who were present in the home at the time of the shootings were able to escape unharmed and seek help from a neighbor. The investigation identified Christopher Myers as the sole suspect, and with his death, the case was cleared as a murder-suicide, leaving a community to mourn the loss of Timeki and her daughter.
