In the winter of 2018, the life of 52-year-old Yolanda Eberts was tragically cut short in what Tucson police have described as a murder-suicide. On the morning of January 6th, family members made a devastating discovery, finding Yolanda deceased inside her apartment on North Pantano Road. She had sustained obvious gunshot trauma.
As law enforcement was en route to the scene, a second distressing call came in from the family.
They had located Yolanda's 48-year-old boyfriend, Bryant Smith, unresponsive in his vehicle within the same apartment complex. When officers arrived, they found him with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Homicide detectives investigating the case determined that the couple had been living together in the apartment where Yolanda's body was found. The preliminary findings of their investigation suggest that Bryant Smith shot and killed Yolanda before taking his own life.
