In the early morning hours of November 2, 2025, the life of 30-year-old Kitana Kendrick was tragically cut short in Rochester, New York. Kendrick was fatally struck by what police believe was a stray bullet during an altercation that did not involve her. The incident occurred around 1:50 a.m. on Gothic Street, where an argument escalated into gunfire. Kendrick, who was with her boyfriend at the time, was not the intended target of the shooting.
She was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The investigation into Kendrick's death led to the arrest of 24-year-old Aryana Stone. U.S. Marshals apprehended Stone in the Buffalo area on an outstanding warrant for a probation violation. At the time of the shooting, Stone was on probation for a prior conviction of attempted robbery. Authorities have charged her with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with Kendrick's death.
According to court documents, Stone is accused of firing approximately nine shots during the street argument, with one of the rounds striking and killing Kendrick. Following her arrest, Stone was arraigned on the murder and weapons charges, where she entered a plea of not guilty. She is currently being held without bail. Kitana Kendrick's family is left to mourn the loss of a woman they describe as a loyal and amazing daughter and friend, an innocent bystander whose life was ended by senseless violence.
