In the Collegeville community of Birmingham, Alabama, a domestic dispute on the morning of Saturday, November 8, 2025, escalated into a fatal shooting that claimed the life of 30-year-old Anson Quandarius Henderson. The incident unfolded in the 3200 block of 32nd Street North, where Henderson was found unresponsive on a porch with a gunshot wound.
Birmingham police were initially dispatched to the residence around 10:14 a.m. following reports of a domestic disturbance.
Investigators believe the shooting was preceded by an argument between Henderson and the mother of his children. After the woman left the location, another vehicle arrived at the scene. It was from this vehicle that shots were reportedly fired, fatally wounding Henderson. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service.
While responding to the initial call, officers observed a vehicle speeding away from the area. They conducted a traffic stop and detained the occupant. The driver was later identified as 26-year-old Brittney Watson of Brighton, the sister of the woman with whom Henderson had been arguing.
Watson was subsequently arrested and charged with murder and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling. Authorities have described the homicide as domestic-related. Following her arrest, Watson was booked into the Jefferson County Jail, where she is being held without bond. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting is ongoing.
