In a Jeffersontown apartment complex just outside of Louisville, Kentucky, 34-year-old Airrice Clayton, a Black male, was found dead on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Responding to a call around noon, officers arrived at The Pointe at Stoneybrook apartments to find the door to one of the units slightly ajar. Inside, they discovered Clayton seated in a chair, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The Jefferson County coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.
Investigators have indicated that they do not believe the killing was a random act, suggesting that Clayton and the person responsible likely knew one another. While the suspect remains at large, Jeffersontown police have stated they have some good leads and do not believe there is a broader threat to the public. Authorities have encouraged anyone with information or surveillance footage from the area around Arbor Pointe Drive to come forward to assist with the ongoing homicide investigation.
Remembered by his family as a devoted and loving father of two, Clayton was also a talented and creative artist. His mother, Alisha Clayton-Johnson, described the pain of losing her only son. His family shared stories of his artistic abilities, which included drawing portraits for families of deceased loved ones, designing his own tattoos with aspirations of becoming a professional tattoo artist, writing poetry, and rapping. Known for his charismatic and friendly nature, those close to him said he never met a stranger and had a knack for making people laugh. His loved ones are left seeking justice and grappling with the sudden loss of a man they describe as a blessing.
