In the summer of 2019, a tragedy unfolded in the Old Louisville neighborhood that cut short the life of Victor Sarver Jr. A 39-year-old Black male, Sarver was found shot in the 1300 block of South Third Street on Saturday, July 6, 2019. He was rushed to the University of Louisville Hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead just before 2 p.m.
