In the quiet of a Monday night in Fargo, North Dakota, the life of 28-year-old Nadin Khoury was tragically cut short. On October 27, 2025, police responded to a call at an apartment complex on the 2700 block of 41st Street South around 9:30 p.m. There, in the stark stairwell of a building he did not call home, they found Khoury suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Bystanders had rushed to his aid, attempting to render assistance until emergency crews arrived and took over life-saving measures. He was transported to a local hospital, but his injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead about 45 minutes later, leaving behind a pregnant wife and other family members.
The investigation into the death of the male victim quickly pointed to a targeted act, not a random event. Fargo Police Department officials stated they believed Khoury and the person who shot him were acquainted. Investigators were also exploring a possible connection between this fatal shooting and another shots-fired incident that had occurred the previous Friday in a different part of the city. On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, 26-year-old Levi Larteh of Fargo was taken into custody by the Clay County Sheriff's Office at a gas station in Barnesville, Minnesota. His arrest came shortly after probable cause was established. Larteh was booked into the Clay County Jail on a murder charge, awaiting extradition back to Cass County, North Dakota, to face legal proceedings. He was subsequently charged with murder and reckless endangerment.
Further details emerged from charging documents, which described the shooting as an ambush. Investigators utilized footage from a Ring doorbell camera and city street cameras to piece together the events of that night. The video evidence allegedly showed Larteh exiting his apartment, which was across from the stairwell, and positioning himself at the top of the landing before gunshots were heard.
