In the early morning hours of August 3, 2025, the life of 20-year-old Elijah Hughes, a Black / African American male, was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in Fargo, North Dakota. The incident unfolded around 2:26 a.m. at a south Fargo apartment complex in the 4700 block of 16th Avenue South. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Hughes with mortal gunshot wounds. A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Hughes was a resident of West Fargo at the time of his death.
