In the early morning hours of October 5, 2025, a 911 call reporting a shooting broke the quiet of Darlene Drive in Clarksville, TN. Responding officers arrived at the scene around 2 a.m. to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The injured man was identified as 31-year-old Nolan Jackson, a male from Memphis. Emergency medical services transported him to Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The ensuing homicide investigation by the Clarksville Police Department soon revealed a complex situation. Detectives determined that Jackson had been with a 22-year-old woman named Shaliyah Tynise Potts on the morning of the shooting. On October 10, authorities announced that Potts had been taken into custody and charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery in connection with Jackson's death. Preliminary findings from the investigation suggested that both Jackson and Potts were involved in criminal activity that ultimately led to the fatal shooting.
