Mhynesha Day, a 22-year-old Black woman from Springfield, Illinois, was found shot to death inside a home in the 3000 block of Hoover Avenue on October 9, 2025. Deputies were dispatched shortly after 2:30 p.m. and discovered three victims who were pronounced dead at the scene: Day; Devione Brady, 21; and 9-year-old Cash Russell.
