In the early morning hours of October 19, 2025, the life of 33-year-old Cynthia Jiminez-Pacheco was tragically cut short in her Hartford, Connecticut, home. Police were dispatched to a residence on Franklin Avenue at approximately 5:10 a.m. following a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a grim scene.
Inside the building's rear stairwell, they found Jiminez-Pacheco suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Nearby lay the body of 32-year-old Joel Martinez, who had also sustained a gunshot wound. Emergency services transported Jiminez-Pacheco to Hartford Hospital, but she was pronounced deceased. Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene. Both individuals were residents of the Franklin Avenue home.
