Demetrese “Meechie” Norvett, 18, a male from Columbus, was found shot to death on Monday, October 20, 2025, in shrubs outside an apartment complex along the 500 block of North Cassady Avenue at the northern edge of Bexley. Police said an individual flagged down officers around 5 p.m., leading them to Norvett’s body; he was pronounced dead at the scene and identified shortly afterward as a Columbus resident known to friends and family as “Meechie.”
