Dedrick Robinson, a 24-year-old Black man, was killed in a shooting in northeast Columbus, Ohio, on April 9, 2024. The incident took place in the Arlington Park neighborhood, also known as East Linden.
In the early hours of that Tuesday, just after midnight, Columbus police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2700 block of Brentnell Avenue. They arrived to find Dedrick Robinson outside an apartment, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
He was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition and was pronounced dead a short time later.
According to court documents and witness reports, the violence began when Robinson fired a handgun into an apartment. In response, two men, 27-year-old Kiante Lee and 29-year-old Terrell Thomas, and a woman, Sheleeah Foggie, came outside. Thomas and Foggie allegedly possessed handguns and exchanged gunfire with Robinson. During the shootout, Robinson was struck by a fatal round. Police later said it was Thomas’s gun that fired the shot that killed him.
Homicide detectives recovered video evidence, shell casings, and handguns from the scene. Lee and Thomas were detained soon after at a nearby apartment complex and were both initially charged with murder. A judge set their bonds at $2 million each. Investigators also identified 32-year-old Sheleeah Foggie as a third suspect, and on April 12, a warrant was issued for her arrest on a charge of murder.
Terrell Thomas later pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault as part of a plea agreement. He was sentenced to serve eight to 10.5 years in prison. Kiante Lee pleaded guilty to lesser charges of reckless homicide and attempted felonious assault and was sentenced to five years of community control with no prison time.
As of July 2025, Sheleeah Foggie remains wanted by police, who consider her to be armed and dangerous. Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for any information leading to her arrest.
