On the night of May 24, 2025, in Roanoke, Virginia, a call reporting an assault in progress on Glengary Avenue NW came into the E-911 Center at approximately 11:05 p.m. Just a minute later, a second call reported a shooting at the same location. When police officers arrived at the 2700 block of the street, they discovered a man outside a residence with gunshot wounds. The man, identified as 31-year-old Deven Price Singleton, a Black/African American male, died at the scene.
