Alicia Lakeisha Ellis, a 22-year-old female, lost her life on May 31, 2025, after being shot. The incident unfolded at an apartment complex on South Harrison Street, where a heated dispute allegedly led to the fatal shooting.
Known affectionately as “Tink,” Alicia was born in Richmond on March 28, 2004.
She attended John Marshall High School and was a beloved family member, particularly devoted to her nieces and nephews. Her life was cut short by an act of gun violence that has deeply affected her community.
The immediate aftermath of the shooting saw the arrest of Alicia's own father, Alonzo Ellis. He reportedly admitted to the police that he had shot his daughter during an argument. Shockingly, it was revealed that he was holding his grandson at the time of the incident.
Initially, Alonzo Ellis was faced with charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and shooting into an occupied dwelling. However, in a later development, the Richmond Commonwealth's Attorney's Office decided to drop these initial charges. This move was not an exoneration, but rather a strategic legal step. Subsequently, a more severe charge of first-degree murder was filed against him. The case against Alonzo Ellis is now proceeding through the court system.
