Juan Carlos Romero, a 26-year-old student at the University of New Mexico, was found fatally shot on the sidewalk near Stanford and Central Avenue in Albuquerque on February 7, 2017. His body was discovered in the early hours of the morning, with his personal belongings such as his wallet and cell phone still on him, leading investigators to rule out robbery as a motive.
