In the spring of 2018, the life of Vernon “Adrian” Talamante, a 34-year-old male, was abruptly ended. On the evening of April 4th, officers in Albuquerque, New Mexico, responded to a call of a shooting at the Russwood apartment complex on the city's northwest side. Arriving at the scene in the 4200 block of Atrisco Drive NW, they discovered Talamante had been fatally shot inside a home.
His wife, Jessica Talamante, later recounted the sinking feeling she had when her sister-in-law called to tell her the apartment she shared with her husband was surrounded by police tape and vehicles. The family waited anxiously for hours until their worst fears were confirmed by authorities late that night.
