On the morning of July 8, 2025, officers answering a welfare check in the 1600 block of Rosecrest Avenue in South Richmond found Teresa Jackson, a 64-year-old woman, inside her home. Teresa Jackson, age 64 and female, was discovered down and unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police publicly identified Teresa Jackson, 64, later that day as the victim while the medical examiner took up the formal determination of cause and manner of death.
