Martha Bolden, an 81-year-old Black woman, was found murdered on May 21, 1992, in Richmond, Virginia. She was one of several elderly women targeted in a series of killings known as the 'Golden Years Murders,' which occurred between 1990 and 1996. The victims, all of whom lived alone, were attacked in their homes. The first six victims, including Martha Bolden, were Black women who were stabbed to death, while the subsequent victims were white women who were strangled.
