On the evening of September 24, 2025, in Spokane, Washington, 37-year-old Terrance Wallette, a male, was shot and killed in a double homicide. The incident took place around 8:45 p.m. in the 4200 block of East 34th Avenue on the South Hill, near Chase Middle School. When Spokane Police arrived at the scene, they discovered Wallette and another man, 20-year-old Emilio Vazquez, deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.
A third individual was also found with life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed that both Wallette and Vazquez's deaths were homicides. Investigators from the Spokane Police Department's Major Crimes Unit are handling the case and have stated that they believe all individuals involved in the shooting knew each other. While the exact nature of their relationship is still under investigation, authorities have indicated that they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
A significant detail that emerged during the investigation is that the shooting occurred at the home of a woman whom Wallette had a dark history with. In 2009, when the woman was a teenager, Wallette had held her captive in his bedroom, a crime for which he was convicted of unlawful imprisonment. Wallette had an extensive and violent criminal record, including assaults on former girlfriends. He had been released from prison and, more recently, from Eastern State Hospital in 2024 after being acquitted of other charges by reason of insanity. He was reportedly complying with required check-ins at the time of his death.
As the investigation into the double homicide continues, authorities have not yet publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the deaths of Terrance Wallette and Emilio Vazquez.
