A tragic drive-by shooting in Nashville on May 18, 2025, claimed the life of 22-year-old Kelveonna Holmes, a young mother, and left her boyfriend injured. The incident occurred as Holmes, her 24-year-old boyfriend, and their three-year-old son were seated in their vehicle outside a residence on Woodale Lane. A passing vehicle opened fire on their car, fatally wounding Holmes. She was transported to Skyline Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Her boyfriend sustained a graze wound and was treated and released from the hospital, while their young child, who was in the car at the time of the attack, was miraculously unharmed. Bullets reportedly pierced the car seat, narrowly missing the toddler.

On June 3, 2025, acting on information developed by Metro Nashville Police Department detectives, 21-year-old Dhaeton Hodge was arrested in Fort Worth, Texas. Hodge faces charges of criminal homicide and two counts of attempted criminal homicide for his alleged role in the death of Kelveonna Holmes and the wounding of her boyfriend. The investigation led to the recovery of the vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting in Cheatham County, which ultimately pointed to Hodge as the suspect. He was taken into custody at a motel in the Fort Worth area and is being held as a fugitive pending his return to Nashville to face the charges against him.
