In the late hours of a Tuesday in Memphis, the life of 27-year-old Cody Devontae Johnson was brought to a violent and sudden end. On June 3, 2025, at approximately 10:41 p.m., police were called to the 6800 block of Birch Lake Drive in southeast Memphis following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Johnson lying outside the front door of his apartment, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate response, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
