In the late hours of a Tuesday in Memphis, the life of 27-year-old Cody Devontae Johnson was brought to a violent and sudden end. On June 3, 2025, at approximately 10:41 p.m., police were called to the 6800 block of Birch Lake Drive in southeast Memphis following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Johnson lying outside the front door of his apartment, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
