In the winter of 2017, a young life was abruptly cut short in Memphis, Tennessee. Yasne Tahiro, a 20-year-old man of Somali descent, was found in his vehicle on the afternoon of Sunday, January 22nd. Tahiro had not been the victim of a traffic collision, but of a fatal shooting.
He was discovered inside his Dodge Durango, having sustained a gunshot wound. Emergency services transported him to Regional One Health, but his injuries proved too severe, and he died shortly after his arrival.
The investigation into Tahiro's death led authorities to believe the shooting did not occur where he was found. Instead, evidence suggested the fatal encounter took place on Prince John Cove. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots in that area and seeing two men running from the scene.
