On November 26, 2024, 17-year-old Joseph Tapia was fatally shot in Cudahy, California. The incident occurred around 12:58 a.m. in the 4400 block of Clara Street, west of Atlantic Avenue. Authorities pronounced Tapia dead at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office identified the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head, classifying the manner of death as homicide.
Reports indicate that a 15-year-old individual was also shot during the incident and is in critical condition.
As of now, there have been no reports of arrests or identification of suspects related to the shooting. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is actively investigating the case.
