In the summer of 2025, the community of Jackson, Tennessee, was shaken by the violent death of Cameron Walker. A 24-year-old Black male, Walker was known for his goofy and charismatic personality. He had moved to Tennessee with his family at the age of fourteen and attended Bolivar Central High School, where he was a dedicated football player for all four years, graduating in 2020.
He went on to attend Lane College with aspirations of becoming a physical therapist.
On July 19, 2025, Cameron Walker was killed in a shooting on Harts Bridge Road in Madison County. The Madison County Sheriff's Office launched a homicide investigation. Their efforts, aided by tips from the community, quickly led to a significant breakthrough in the case.
Within days, two juvenile suspects were taken into custody. The suspects, a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old, were both charged with first-degree murder in the perpetration of an attempted aggravated robbery. The charges against them also included two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of attempted aggravated robbery, employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and unlawful possession of a firearm. Due to their status as juveniles, their names were not publicly released by the authorities. The investigation remained active following the arrests as law enforcement continued to gather information.
