Death by Force

Shomari Ankmoa Peterson Jr., a 17-year-old African American male from Jackson, Tennessee, tragically lost his life on July 27, 2014. Peterson was fatally shot outside Parkway East Apartments on Carver Avenue in Jackson. The incident occurred around 5:07 p.m. when police were called to the scene. Peterson succumbed to his injuries, while a 21-year-old man who was also shot in the incident survived and was treated at Jackson General Hospital.
