In the quiet of a late spring evening, the life of 20-year-old Tahaj Andru Harrison was abruptly ended by a hail of bullets in Norristown, Pennsylvania. On Friday, May 23, 2025, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Harrison was standing in front of his mother's home on the 600 block of Corson Street when three masked individuals opened fire. The young man, a male resident of Norristown, was struck in the chest and managed to make his way to the backyard of his residence where he collapsed and died. His mother, who was in the backyard at the time, tragically witnessed her son's final moments.
The Norristown Police Department was first alerted to the shooting by a ShotSpotter notification indicating multiple gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered Harrison's body. An autopsy later confirmed that he died from a single gunshot wound to the chest, and his death was ruled a homicide. Investigators found six spent 9mm shell casings and two live rounds at the scene, which ballistics determined were fired from three different firearms. This discovery pointed to the presence of three shooters.
The investigation into Harrison's murder quickly revealed that it was a targeted killing stemming from an ongoing and violent feud between two rival Norristown gangs. Authorities identified Harrison as a member of the 'Grimy Boys/6's'. The suspects were identified as members of the rival 'All Black Bandits/300s' gang. Detectives uncovered Instagram messages exchanged between Harrison and one of the suspects just hours before the shooting, which discussed the feud. One of Harrison's recent social media posts was perceived as disrespectful by a member of the rival gang, escalating the conflict.
Within weeks, authorities made arrests in connection with the murder. The first to be taken into custody was 16-year-old Kaleem Roland, who was charged with first-degree murder and other related offenses. Shortly after, 17-year-old Naseem Worrell was arrested and faced the same charges. The third and final suspect, 18-year-old Jabriil Morgan-Cook, was apprehended in Pottstown where he was found hiding. Morgan-Cook was also charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy, and firearms violations. All three suspects, residents of Norristown, were remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility without bail, which is standard for first-degree murder charges.
