On June 8, 2025, just after 2 a.m., police and medics were called to the Outlaw Motorcycle Club House on North Main Avenue in Newton, North Carolina, where they found two people shot. Thirty-two-year-old Jordan Matthew Cassel, male and White/Caucasian, was rushed from the scene to Catawba Valley Medical Center and died of his wounds; the second victim was initially transported locally and then airlifted to Atrium Health in Charlotte in critical condition.
