On September 28, 2025, Porsha Ivey, age 34, a female from the Bishopville area, was shot and killed at the Pilot Truck Stop on Sumter Highway, just outside Bishopville in Lee County, South Carolina. Deputies responding to the scene found Porsha Ivey inside a vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds, and the sheriff’s office immediately noted that one person had been detained for questioning and that there was no ongoing threat to the public.
