In the late spring of 2008, the community of Bishopville, South Carolina, was unsettled by the discovery of a young mother's untimely death. Twenty-six-year-old Erica Morgan was found deceased in her Bowman Road home on the morning of May 22, 2008. Her boyfriend at the time, Jermaine Joye, made the grim discovery after becoming concerned when she did not answer his phone calls. Inside the home, unharmed, were her three young daughters, ages three, four, and five.
