In the late morning of Sunday, July 20, 2025, the Portsmouth neighborhood of North Portland was shattered by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 11:04 a.m., officers from the North Precinct were dispatched to the 9300 block of North Newman Avenue following reports of a shooting.
