Avon Harris, 69, a Black male, was shot on the evening of Sunday, August 17, 2025, in north Toledo. Officers responding to a person-shot call found him on Elm Street near Lagrange and Spring streets with a gunshot wound to the abdomen around 8:45 p.m. He was treated at the scene and transported to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center. He died from his injuries the next day, Monday, August 18, 2025.
