Terrance Leon Scott, a beloved father, son, and brother known to friends and family as “Tee,” was remembered for his humor, determination, and an unforgettable personality that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. The 37-year-old was well-known throughout his city of Toledo, Ohio, possessing what loved ones called a "hustler's spirit" and a "fighter's heart." Beneath this determined exterior was a deeply caring man who made helping others a core part of his identity, always showing up for those who needed him. His greatest motivation was his children, Terionna, Terrance Jr., and Tyshawn. He was focused on his own growth and success to provide a better future for them, and his love for them was his driving force.

In the early hours of Wednesday, October 7, 2026, Terrance’s life was cut tragically short. Around 12:30 a.m., Toledo Police officers were dispatched to a report of a person shot at a residence in the 1100 block of Campbell Street, near Holbrook Avenue and North Hawley Street. Inside the home, they found Terrance suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders rushed him to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead less than an hour after his arrival. The Lucas County Deputy Coroner, Dr. Dwayne Wolf, later performed an autopsy and officially ruled the cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death a homicide.

The Toledo Police Department immediately launched a homicide investigation into Terrance's death. Detectives at the scene took several people who were inside the house at the time of the shooting to be questioned. As part of securing the scene, Lucas County Canine Care & Control was also called to the residence to remove two dogs. In the days following the shooting, however, authorities released no information about a potential motive or any persons of interest. The investigation remains active, but no suspects have been publicly identified and no arrests have been made.

Terrance’s sudden and violent death left a void for his family that words could not express. His laughter and energy were deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy King; his brother, Leroy King Jr.; his grandparents, Cora and Emmitt King, and Minnie Williams and David Scott; and his nephew, Eric Scott Jr. He left behind to cherish his memory his mother, Ruth Lawrence; his three children; his sister, Nirisha Scott; and his brothers, Eddie, Eric, and Cordell Scott, and Stewart King, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.

A visitation for friends and family to pay their respects was held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at The House of Day Funeral Services Chapel on Nebraska Avenue. Terrance was later laid to rest at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo.

As of October 2026, the case into the murder of Terrance Scott remains unsolved. The Toledo Police Department continues to seek information from the public that could lead to an arrest and bring justice to his grieving family. Authorities urge anyone with information about the shooting to call or text the Crime Stoppers hotline at 419-255-1111. Callers may remain anonymous.
