On September 6, 2025, a tragedy unfolded in a home in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, where 10-year-old Liliana Morgan, a White female, was found deceased. Responding to a report of a suicide around 5 p.m., officers from the Portland Police Bureau's East Precinct discovered a heartbreaking scene at the residence on the 7000 block of Southeast 64th Avenue.
Liliana, along with her 48-year-old mother, Maria Florencia Rubio, and her 22-year-old brother, Miguel Morgan, had all sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
Subsequent investigation by the Homicide Unit of the Portland Police Bureau led detectives to the grim conclusion that the incident was a double murder-suicide. It is believed that Miguel Morgan shot and killed his mother and his younger sister, Liliana, before taking his own life.
