On the evening of August 15, 2025, Jamie Jones, age 53, a man from Fayetteville, North Carolina, was shot outside a home on the 1900 block of Poplar Drive. Officers were dispatched just after 5:15 p.m.; they found Jamie Jones in the front yard with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite attempts at life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
