Jahshyim Whitfield, 27, a male and Black/African American, was shot on the night of July 12, 2025, outside the Lafayette Gardens NYCHA complex near DeKalb and Kent Avenues in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Police responded around 9:20–9:23 p.m. and found 27-year-old Jahshyim Whitfield with a gunshot wound to the torso; he was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
