On a summer evening in Brooklyn, 27-year-old Jahshyim Whitfield, a Black male, was fatally shot while on his way to pick up his daughter from a beauty parlor. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 12, 2025, shortly before 9:30 p.m. outside the Lafayette Gardens public housing complex in the Clinton Hill neighborhood. Whitfield, a resident of Bedford-Stuyvesant, was found on the ground with a gunshot wound to his torso.
