In the quiet neighborhood of Fairlane in south Kansas City, a tragedy unfolded on the evening of May 28, 2025, forever altering the lives of two families. Adriane E. Stanley, a 36-year-old female, was fatally shot in the driveway of a residence in the 9600 block of Fremont Street. The incident, which also claimed the life of 35-year-old Demetrius Davis, sent shockwaves through the community.
Reports from that evening indicate that just after 9 p.m., an argument involving several
individuals broke out. The dispute quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, culminating in gunfire. When Kansas City police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Adriane and Demetrius suffering from gunshot wounds.
