Timothy Shanks, 63, a Black/African American male, died after a daytime shooting in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, on May 30, 2025. Shortly before 2 p.m., officers were called to the area of East 9th Street and Dewey Street, where an argument between two male relatives had escalated into gunfire. Timothy Shanks, 63, was rushed to a local hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.
