In Greenwood, Mississippi, a bright and outgoing 19-year-old Black woman named Lakeria Fisher tragically lost her life on the night of Sunday, June 1, 2025. Fisher was driving along Lindsey Avenue when she was shot in the chest. The gunshot wound caused her to lose control of her vehicle, which then crashed into a pole.
