In the late hours of a Tuesday in St. Louis, tragedy struck a group of friends gathered to mourn a life lost just hours earlier. Just before 10:50 p.m. on August 19, 2025, gunfire erupted near North Broadway and Pope Avenue in the North Riverfront neighborhood, forever altering the lives of many. When the chaos subsided, 31-year-old Trevon Bledsoe, a male from Dellwood, MO, had been fatally wounded.
Another individual, a 29-year-old woman, was also struck by the gunfire but was transported to a hospital in stable condition.
Bledsoe and his friends had reportedly gathered in the area to remember a companion who had been shot and killed earlier that same day near West Florissant and Thrush. In that incident, the victim was fired upon while sitting in his car, which subsequently crashed in a cemetery. It remains unclear if the two fatal shootings are connected. Bledsoe, a father of four children, the oldest being only six, was pronounced deceased after being taken to a local hospital. His vehicle was left riddled with bullet holes at the scene.
St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are leading the investigation into the shooting that claimed Bledsoe's life. To date, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or a potential motive for the shooting. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.
