Damarius Lamont Cochran, a Black male, age 26, was found late on the evening of June 7, 2025, in the parking lot of the Pleasant Motel along 28th Street in Grand Rapids, Michigan, suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers had initially been dispatched for a reported overdose, but when they arrived they discovered the 26-year-old man critically wounded and rushed him to a hospital, where he died.
