Roosevelt Denson Jr., 48, a Black man, was killed late on the night of August 30, 2025, in the 5600 block of Dogwood Trail in Jackson, Mississippi. Officers responding around 11 p.m. found him at the scene with at least one gunshot wound as a backyard birthday gathering dissolved into panic.
