In the late hours of a Sunday evening, the quiet along Highway 90 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, was broken by a grim discovery. On June 29, 2025, the body of 23-year-old Kalin Jemel Stevens was found unresponsive on the roadside in the 6700 block of the highway. What was initially thought to be the scene of a tragic traffic accident quickly turned into a homicide investigation.
