Michael Bassett, 16, a Black male, was shot on the night of May 27, 2025, in Fort Washington, Maryland, and died shortly afterward at a hospital. Around 9:35 p.m., officers in the area of the 5500 block of Haras Place heard gunfire and found two 16-year-olds outside an apartment building in the 5200 block.
