In the late hours of a Tuesday evening in Fort Washington, Maryland, the life of 16-year-old Michael Bassett was tragically cut short. On May 27, 2025, at approximately 9:35 p.m., the sound of gunshots pierced the night in the 5200 block of Haras Place. When officers from the Prince George's County Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered two teenagers suffering from gunshot wounds outside an apartment building.
