In the early morning hours of September 23, 2025, the life of 35-year-old Kenlanda Burns, a Black female from Yazoo City, Mississippi, was tragically cut short. Burns, a cafeteria worker for the Yazoo City Municipal School District and a mother, was found shot to death at the Willow Wood Apartments on Grady Avenue.
