On a summer evening meant for celebration in Flint, Michigan, the life of an 18-year-old Black/African American woman, Jayla Keel, was tragically cut short. On the night of August 10, 2025, she had joined thousands of others in the streets of downtown Flint for the city's annual 810 Day event.
