On Halloween of 2022, a devastating event unfolded in Flint, Michigan, forever altering the lives of a local family. Treasury Aray Causey-Box, a 29-year-old mother, was tragically killed in her home at the Midway Square Townhomes. Known for her dedication to her children and her passion for cosmetology, her sudden death left a profound void in the lives of her loved ones.

The circumstances leading to her death began with a personal dispute. Causey-Box had discovered her boyfriend, Kevin Stubbs Jr., was involved in another relationship, which led to a heated argument between the two. The confrontation escalated to a tragic conclusion when Stubbs shot Causey-Box. In a heart-wrenching turn of events, her 5-year-old son was present in the home at the time of the shooting and discovered his mother's body after hearing the gunshots.

Following the incident, Kevin Stubbs Jr. fled the scene. However, his attempt to evade justice was short-lived. A few days later, he was apprehended by a collaborative effort of detectives from the Michigan State Police and the Flint Police Department. The investigation led to Stubbs being charged with second-degree murder and several other felonies in connection with the death of Treasury Aray Causey-Box.

The legal proceedings against Kevin Stubbs Jr. culminated on June 13, 2024, when a jury found him guilty of the charges brought against him. With the guilty verdict, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. His sentencing was scheduled for July 22, 2024.
