In the late summer of 2025, the life of Michael Burks, a 44-year-old male, was cut short by an act of violence in the Marigny neighborhood of New Orleans. On the night of August 14th, Burks was fatally shot, leaving a community to grapple with the sudden loss. The Orleans Parish Coroner's office later identified him as the victim of the shooting.
