On the morning of September 16, 2025, 20-year-old Gerald Holley, a male from New Orleans, was shot in the Gentilly/Milneburg area. Police determined the gunfire occurred in the 6300 block of Arts Street around 9:45 a.m. Holley ran from the scene and collapsed nearby in the 2400 block of Mexico Street, where responding Third District officers found him with a gunshot wound. He was taken by New Orleans EMS to a hospital, where he later died.
