Corey Mercadel, a 38-year-old New Orleans resident, was the victim of a homicide on July 25, 2016. The incident occurred in New Orleans' Upper Ninth Ward. Authorities discovered Mercadel suffering from gunshot wounds after responding to a shooting report. He was transported to a local hospital, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.
